Student Protest

On Friday the 29th I attended the Liverpool Climate Change student strike, at The Wellington Memorial (near the Walker Art Gallery). Where many young people gathered to make their voice heard. I went to the protest to show my support and hear what they had to say.
I spoke to one passionate student from the activist group 'Strike Merseyside' who stated "Many people here think that drinking from metal straws and being vegan is the solution to our problem. And it's not it is a political movement!!"
I even asked a fellow on looker who said "Going to protests are important, but no one protest alone is going to change the world." This was reinforced by Ben Saunders saying "Protests are important as for many young people, it is the main way to get your voice heard."
Some people also used the strike to protest the John Lennon Airport Expansion. In an attempt to save Oglet Shore (in Speke) and its surronding Green Belt. Their main message is "Say NO to airport expansion plans and destruction of the Green Belt!!"
Thank you to Deividas Toleikis (thetoleikis) for the photos and thank you for reading this post!!
